Who We Are
This Web site is the online presence of the Oregon Trail Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which exists to manage and develop the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Oregon City, Oregon. As part of our mission to educate the public, this site contains a library of historical resources on the Oregon Trail and the early period of settlement in the Pacific Northwest. General visitor information for the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and nearby historic sites is also available through this Web site, as well as group tour planning information.

In accordance with the Oregon Trail Foundation's educational mission, the library area of our Web site was conceived as a resource to be made freely available to the public. Anyone with an interest in the Oregon Trail or American history is welcome to print and digitally archive for their personal use anything posted in our public library which they find interesting, entertaining, or potentially useful. However, this is not to be taken as permission to mirror this site or any of its content.

Images which are in the public domain are noted as such; for those images not owned by the Oregon Trail Foundation, the Foundation has obtained permission from their owners or paid the associated fees to allow us to make these images available in a low-resolution format which their owners have specified.

The Oregon Trail Foundation does not collect personal information about our online guests. If you contact us as a result of visiting this Web site, we will not spam you, solicit contributions from you, or sell information about you to another organization.
The only exception to this policy is if you specifically request to be added to our mailing list and supply us with the relevant personal information, yourself -- and even then, we don't trade mailing lists or indulge in other, equally irritating marketing maneuvers that would fill your mailbox with unwanted junk.
